Ulrich Ellison

Ulrich Ellison, a guitar virtuoso from Graz, Austria, arrived in the United States during the early 2000s on a jazz scholarship and made his home in Austin, Texas, where he immersed himself in the storied Texas electric blues milieu. Drawing from an array of traditions, he weaves classical phrasing, heavy metal intensity, Celtic melodies, worldbeat pulses, and progressive rock intricacies into his work, a synthesis he terms "Viking Blues" and regularly delivers alongside his band the Tribe. His first full-length recording, Tales from the Kingdom Electric, appeared in 2007, succeeded by Lose Yourself (2011), My Shoes Keep Walking Back to You (2013), and Synergy (2014).
