Biography
Formed in New York City during 1989, the trio Uncle Wiggly comprises William Berger on guitar and drums, Michael Anzalone covering bass and guitar, and James Kavoussi handling drums and guitar, with vocals shared among all three. Uncle Wiggly combined brief alt-pop songs and 1960s-style psychedelic touches on their first album, He Went There So Why Don't We Go, which surfaced in 1990 through the Austrian independent imprint Nur Sch Records; the band later moved to Shimmy Disc, the label that put out their next two albums, Across the Room and Into Your Lap in 1991 and There Was an Elk in 1992. The group followed with the 12" EP Non Stuff in 1995 and their fourth album overall, Jump Back, Baby, in 1996.
