Biography
In the opening months of 1988, brothers John and Steve Taylor—both guitarists and vocalists—launched The Uninvited in Los Angeles. Following regional performances throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, the band completed its lineup with bassist Bill Cory and drummer Bruce Logan. After cutting numerous demos for label consideration, the group chose to self-release and delivered Pop This in 1992 through its own Roarshack Records. Although sales proved solid, the distributor’s sudden failure imposed a three-year wait before Too High appeared. The ensemble then shifted base to San Francisco, where it tracked 1996’s Artificial Hip and secured a deal with Atlantic. The resulting fourth album, The Uninvited, reached stores in July 1998.
