Biography
Formed as an experimental noise rock quartet, UUUU unites Wire’s Graham Lewis and Matthew Simms with Thighpaulsandra—once a member of Coil and Spiritualized—and drummer/percussionist Valentina Magaletti of Raime, Tomaga, and Vanishing Twin. Largely improvised, the group’s recordings range across chaotic free jazz explorations, heavy Krautrock, spacious zones, and abstract art-pop songs. Editions Mego issued the quartet’s self-titled debut album in 2017.
