Valborg

Originating from Germany, the metal group Valborg delivers a severe fusion of death, doom, and progressive metal that brings to mind acts such as Triptykon, Celtic Frost, and Throes of Dawn. Formed in 2002 in Bonn, a city in West Germany, they put out their first record, Songs for a Year, the following year. Although they kept creating songs over the subsequent three years, commitments to separate endeavors prevented the group from performing live. In 2009 Valborg put forth their next album, Glorification of Pain, after which they accelerated their creative output, issuing Crown of Sorrow, Barbarian, and Nekrodepression in the span from 2010 to 2012. Romantik came out in 2015, and a split 7-inch with Bloodway appeared the next year. Endstrand marked their next studio album in 2017.
