Biography
Valerie Rose, drawn to the sounds of Irish music alongside psychedelic rock, launched her professional journey playing the fiddle once she reached her mid-twenties. Her early years included instruction on guitar, vocals, piano, and additional instruments, leading her to develop a strong interest in performers such as the Bothy Band and Mary Black, prompting a shift toward their style. Upon taking up the fiddle, she collaborated with multiple Celtic groups, infusing their work with the atmospheric restraint characteristic of psychedelic pop, which had also captivated her during childhood. In 2002, she completed work on her first album, Petals of Stone, issuing the recording in the summer months of that same year.
