Biography
Vandallus, a hard rock and heavy metal group from Cleveland, Ohio, surfaced in 2015 by fusing the groove-heavy, classic '70s style of heavy rock with the tuneful, commercially slanted metal approach typical of the following decade. Fronted by guitarist and vocalist Jason Vanek, the lineup draws on veteran Midwest players whose backgrounds include guitarist/vocalist Shaun Vanek and drummer Steve Dukuslow’s involvement with local thrash outfit Midnight, guitarist Tyler Harvey’s connection to power metal act Deadiron, and bassist Tim Frederick’s stints alongside Wrath, Eternal Legacy, and Destructor. Their self-titled EP surfaced in 2015, followed the next year by the debut full-length On the High Side on High Roller Records. For the second album, the band switched to Pure Steel and delivered the aggressive 2018 release Bad Disease.
