Biography
Vanessa Collier, an East Coast vocalist, songwriter, and saxophonist rooted in blues, soul, funk, and R&B, secured dual degrees from Berklee College of Music in Performance and Music Production & Engineering. Once her coursework ended, the Maryland native rapidly established herself as a sought-after studio and road musician, appearing with Annie Lennox, Kathy Mattea, and Willie Nelson among others while completing a nearly two-year domestic and overseas tour alongside Grammy winner Joe Louis Walker. Her debut solo album, Heart Soul & Saxophone, arrived in 2014 and prompted comparisons to the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Bonnie Raitt. Ruf Records issued her eagerly awaited follow-up, Meeting My Shadow, in 2017.
