Biography
Vav Jungle first assembled in Canada during 1990, its original lineup featuring musician Eve Rice, formerly of the eighties new wave girl band Just Ducky that had been established in Winnepeg in 1983, together with Murray Toews. In 1992 Murray exited to complete his B.F.A. at the University of Manitoba, after which Eve continued forward alongside a rotating cast of temporary contributors. During that same year, occasional guest participant and interpretive dancer Grace Martini became a permanent addition. Across the nineties the ensemble issued multiple eclectic recordings, ultimately presenting its first full-length album, Zig-A-Dig, in October 1997.
