Biography
Verônica Sabino, who previously performed under the name Céu da Boca, scored her breakthrough success in 1986 with the track “Demais,” a Lennon-McCartney composition delivered by Zé Rodrix and Miguel Paiva. Featured on the Selva de Pedra telenovela soundtrack, the single ranked among the year’s most popular releases. Two years later she returned with another standout, “Todo Sentimento,” written by Chico Buarque and Cristóvão Bastos and placed in the Vale Tudo soap-opera score. By 1992 a further recording, “Tudo o Que Se Quer”—the Portuguese rendering of “All I Ask of You” that Nelson Motta had recorded alongside Emílio Santiago—appeared on the Tieta soundtrack. Between 1993 and 1997 she issued three solo albums; a fourth followed in 1999 when she presented it in France during the MIDEM audio fair.
