Victoria Jane

Manchester-based vocalist Victoria Jane, who specializes in soul and R&B, balances her schedule among studio sessions, live appearances, and hosting a weekly radio program. On the broadcast she spotlights emerging acts from northern England.

Although born in London, she relocated to Manchester during childhood. Her parents shaped her listening habits by filling the home with soul, jazz, and blues recordings. While pursuing a Broadcast Journalism degree at Salford University, she joined the student station Shock Radio and assembled a reel of interviews that secured her an on-air role at Unity Radio. She continued championing fresh talent during those broadcasts while holding a daytime position as a sales executive at a call center. Seeking further advancement, she applied to present BBC Introducing Manchester; although unsuccessful, the station invented the Team Assistant post to bring her onto the team, which in time yielded her own program, Future Soul, aired each Sunday. Throughout this period she financed her recordings independently by covering studio costs herself. Her earliest work carried traces of trap and hip-hop, first heard on the 2018 single “Trigger.” She later shifted toward a richer, more intimate soul direction, documented on the 2023 release Demos, Vol. 1 and its 2024 successor, Demos, Vol. 2.
