Having left the noise-pop experiments of Penelope Trip behind, Pedro Vigil set out to craft material that lay well beyond any indie-derived limits. He gathered a wide-ranging group of players that encompassed strings, brass, percussion, and a female chorus, using them to shape a series of cocktail pop pieces inspired by Martin Denny, Juan Garcia Esquivel, and further 60's jazz composers. The resulting fusion of exotic spy themes and quirky bossa nova enabled the Gijon, Spain native to issue his debut full-length, Música Para Hacer la Digestión, in 1998.
