Vincent Mason blends unvarnished honesty with a soulful inflection that recalls Parker McCollum as much as John Mayer. He maintained a steady output through the first years of the 2020s before reaching wider notice in 2024 via the brooding ballad “Hell Is a Dance Floor,” a track whose slight Zach Bryan shading sets it apart from the relaxed atmosphere that defines his 2024 EP Can’t Just Be Me and its showcase of his easygoing delivery and sincere vocals.

Born November 10, 2000, in Roswell, Georgia, Mason grew up on the fringes of Atlanta. Sports dominated his early interests until he received his first guitar as a high-school sophomore; by graduation he had begun treating the instrument seriously. He carried it with him to Ole Miss, where he turned toward writing original material.

Early in the 2020s Mason settled in Nashville, refining his craft while enrolled at Lipscomb University. When the COVID-19 pandemic closed classrooms, he shifted his focus entirely to songwriting and soon began sharing new songs online. Four of those tracks appeared in 2022: “Everybody Loves Her,” “Made 4,” “The Breakdown,” and “Me and Tennesee.”

Throughout 2023 he continued releasing music, signing with Concord Music Publishing/Hang Your Hat Music and issuing the singles “A Little Too Good,” “Didn't Wanna Settle Down,” “Know What You Mean,” and “Good Thing Going,” which culminated in the EP A Little Too Good. He also toured with Ashley Cooke and opened shows for Parker McCollum and Niko Moon.

Co-written with Chase McDaniel, “Hell Is a Dance Floor” began gaining traction early in 2024, prompting a May signing with Interscope/UMG Nashville. The label issued Can’t Just Be Me shortly afterward. Mason supported the EP that summer with opening slots on tours by Miranda Lambert and Gavin Adcock.
