Biography
The trio that forms Vision Fortune, a drone-rock outfit noted for its restless genre shifts, first encountered one another as schoolboys at a Belgian boarding institution. Only later, once they had reached young adulthood, did the Peru brothers, Austin and Alex, link up with drummer Andreas Cuatroquesos in London. There, around 2011, the three began shaping their initial style through an assortment of guitars and electronics, blending the raw, pounding attack of garage rock with the exploratory textures of drone. Ahead of their 2013 debut full-length, Mas Fiestas con el Grupo Vision Fortune, the group had already circulated a handful of singles, CD-Rs, and other modest editions. In 2014 they completed a two-month residency underwritten by the Cuatroquesos Foundation, isolating themselves at a secluded estate in Tuscany, Italy, to lay down the tracks that became their second album, Country Music, issued early the following year on ATP Recordings.
