Biography
Frantal, born in Kisingani, Zaire, assembled the ensemble in 1984 after earlier work with Orchestre Succes Le Peuple, Orchestre Boma Liwanzo, and Orchestre ShikaShika. Soukous rhythms and Central African folklore shaped his approach to the music.
