Biography
The California quartet Waiting 4 Wyatt originated as the vision of sisters Lucy Levinsohn on vocals and Anya Boyer on keyboards and vocals. While seeking a bassist for their initial project, Lily's Siren, the pair connected with Billy Berman, previously of Liquid Zu. Berman contributed songwriting depth that steered the ensemble toward unexplored musical directions. The outfit adopted the name Waiting 4 Wyatt and dedicated much of 2003-2005 to refining its emerging style. Guitarist Brian Stewart came aboard in 2005, after which the group booked time at L.A.'s Shut Up and Play studios to lay down its debut album, What Are You Waiting 4?. Positive critical notices and label attention opened doors to strategic song placements, foremost among them the placement of "More Than Myself" on MTV's Meet the Barkers.
