Several ex-members of the progressive rock group Tristan Park, responsible for three 1990s releases on the British-based GFT label including A Place Inside (1995) and Looking Homeward (1998), belong to New England rock band Waking in the Blue. Songwriters Brian and Michelle Coombes established the project, which draws its name from a Robert Lowell poem, and recruited drummer Jim Turmel and bassist Mike McAdam, both prior Tristan Park colleagues of Brian, during sessions for the band’s debut recording. Violinist and guitarist Bryan Duff rounded out the lineup. The resulting album, Isn’t It Pretty to Think So?, appeared in 2003.
