Biography
Derived from a slang expression for something shallow or insubstantial, the California outfit Weaksauce formed when three high school students sought to outshine local bar bands around Ridgecrest. Over the next four years the trio maintained a relentless touring schedule while also logging occasional studio sessions. Weaksauce issued the compilation Brutally Honest in 1999, collecting several of the group’s strongest tracks to date. Refining its stage presentation through extensive road work alongside Guttermouth, SNFU, Union 13 and Riotgun, the band cultivated a dedicated audience. After signing with Infect Records, Weaksauce entered the studio in 2001 to record its first release for the label, Step Forward, which appeared in September 2002.
