A jazz vocalist of notable talent and presence whose roaring voice commanded attention, Wendee Glick entered the scene in 2002 with a robust debut album that reflected her substantial background in the performing arts. Residing in the New England area, she developed an appreciation for the genre through her mother’s own work as a singer. After joining the choral troupe behind the America’s Youth in Concert tour, she enrolled at the University of Lowell to pursue music studies. Admiration for legends such as Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn soon took hold, leading her to perform locally until she became a fixture in several New England jazz clubs. She channeled this emerging recognition into her first CD, Baby I'm Fine, which she produced in the spring of 2002. Following its release that fall, favorable notices appeared in regional magazines, area radio stations, and Down Beat Magazine.
