Biography
Born in 1964, Werner Dafeldecker trained on bass while based in Vienna. Earlier in his career he performed across jazz, rock, and new music, later receiving composition commissions from Konzerthaus Wien, ORF, and additional organizations. A co-founder of both Polwechsel and Shobotinski, the Viennese musician launched the avant-garde label Durian Records in 1995 and has appeared on releases issued by Hat Art, Extraplatte, and Random Acoustics.
