Biography
The blues pianist Wesley Wallace, whose background remains largely mysterious, issued just a couple of sides under his own name for the Paramount label. These sides, titled "Fanny Lee Blues" and "No. 29," were cut during a session held in Grafton, Wisconsin, during February 1930. Details concerning his personal history are scarce, though indications suggest he resided in Alton, Missouri, not far from St. Louis, and possibly hailed from Arkansas originally. Nevertheless, the pair of recordings he made attest to his remarkable abilities, even if his primary role involved supporting fellow musicians as a backing player.
