Western Centuries

Western Centuries, based in Seattle, draw from the full spectrum of American roots traditions by fusing country, bluegrass, folk, R&B, and classic rock. The lineup unites songwriters Ethan Lawton, Jim Miller, and Cahalen Morrison with instrumentalists Nokosee Fields and Thomas Bryan Eaton. Their debut album, Weight of the World, arrived in 2016 on Free Dirt Records; the 12-track collection highlighted the fan favorite “Off the Shelf” while pairing neo-traditional country twang with the Band’s soulful dancehall esthetic. Refinement arrived on 2018’s Songs from the Deluge, which expanded the palette to include blues, Western swing, and honky tonk. In 2023 the band joined Grammy-nominated producer Bill Reynolds for Call the Captain, a set of songs that interwove multiple roots subgenres in both topical and timeless ways.
