Biography
Western Electric issued their eponymous first album in March 2000, thereby taking its place as the newest member of an accomplished line of country-rock bands led by Sid Griffin that already included the Long Ryders and the Coal Porters. Listeners responded favorably on the whole to the set, which distinguished itself by blending the ringing 12-string guitars associated with the Byrds during their classic era together with peculiar audio snippets and assorted elements drawn from psychedelic rock.
