Biography
Hailing from Ohio, the rock & roll quartet Wheels on Fire delivers an energetic yet wonderfully ragged sound that occasionally recalls a vintage late-'60s garage band, though its gleefully unhinged spirit would suit any era. Singers and guitarists Michael Chaney and John Garris, keyboardist Susan Musser, and drummer Matthew Chaney make up the lineup, and without a bass player the group achieves a surprisingly sharp and raw texture driven by blistering guitars, dual lead vocals, and abundant attitude. During the summer of 2008 the band cut several rough basement demos that reached Bruce Watson at Fat Possum Records, prompting the label, in tandem with Big Legal Mess Records, to issue the strongest material as the album Get Famous! in 2009 along with the 7" EP sampler I'm Turning into You.
