Biography
White Rose Transmission operated as an occasional recording and live project across the closing years of the 1990s, drawing together guitarist-vocalist Adrian Borland (the Outsiders, the Sound), vocalists Carlo Von Putten (the Convent) and Claudia Uman, keyboardist-guitarist Florian Brattman, and violinist David Maria Gramse. The ensemble released its self-titled debut in 1995. Four years afterward came 700 Miles of Desert, which reached stores two months following Borland’s suicide. A previously booked tour proceeded despite the loss, with Mark Burgess of the Chameleons—already credited for bass contributions on the second album—stepping in to fill the vacant role.
