Biography
Norway's White Void openly draw from the intersections of raw 1970s hard rock, edgy new wave and post-punk, and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. The band's name stems from existentialist philosopher Albert Camus's notion of directionless linearity, reflecting a musical approach that follows several paths at once instead of one consistent course. Their first album, Anti, surfaced in 2021.
Vocalist and keyboardist Lars Nedland (Borknagar, Solefald) leads the lineup, which also features drummer Tobias Solbakk (Ihsahn), electronica producer and bassist Vegard Kummen (Kubbi), and blues-rock guitarist and singer/songwriter Eivind Marum (MARVM). The group signed with Nuclear Blast in 2020 and put out the single "Do.Not.Sleep." Their debut long-player, Anti, arrived in February 2021.
