Biography
Wicked Maraya came together in New York, USA, during the early 1990s, with Lou Falco supplying vocals, Michael Iadevaio and Dan Malsch handling guitar duties, John Iadevaio on bass, and Mike Nach at the drum kit. Their style sat at an intersection of pomp-rock traditions associated with Queensrÿche, Fates Warning, and Savatage, resulting in a debut that stood out as a strong specimen of contemporary progressive metal. Cycles benefited from nimble, well-crafted material and a sleek production sheen provided by Jim Morris, whose résumé already included prior work alongside Savatage and Crimson Glory, auguring favorably for the band’s extended prospects. To support the record, the group launched a European tour in the company of Metal Church.
