Wilkins

Wilkins, a singer from Puerto Rico whose full name at birth is Germán Wilkins Vélez Ramírez, earned the distinction of being the initial pop performer at the Fine Arts Center located in San Juan. During the beginning of the 1990s, his track titled "Sopa de Caracol" achieved massive international acclaim, even appearing on the German Hit Parade. Featured in the film Salsa, Wilkins' follow-up hit "Margarita" climbed to the summit of key charts across Latin America. Honoring his efforts on behalf of his homeland, he received the title of National Godfather for the Puerto Rican Parade held in 2000.
