Biography
In 1963 vocalist and keyboardist Willie MacCalder assembled the Walkers, enlisting guitarists Bill Hardie and Dennis Petruk along with drummer Roland Hardie. Four years afterward the band secured a contract with Capitol and issued the singles “Diamonds and Gold” and “Alone in My Room.” Although the Walkers dissolved in the early 1970s—when MacCalder joined the Powder Blues Band—they regrouped in 1988 to present a reunion show. Later lineup adjustments followed, among them the replacement of Roland Hardie by Nick Petruk and the arrival of vocalist Rick Francis, keyboardist R.J. Smarton, and guitarist Sam Paladino.
