It seems likely that the Animals recorded under the alias Wolf Pack. Just one number issued under the Wolf Pack name, the track "We're Gonna Howl," surfaced on the ABC-Paramount anthology The Dangerous Christmas of Red Riding Hood. Accompanying notes on later pressings of the cut propose a soundtrack origin, whereas the booklet included with the Animals’ Animalistic bootleg identifies the performance as taken from an ABC TV program aired November 28, 1965. In any case the recording bears every hallmark of the Animals. More extended chorus than fully realized song, the brief piece nevertheless functions as a solid, high-energy R&B selection driven by crisp barroom blues piano and a vocal unmistakably delivered by Eric Burdon. The same cut appears on AIP’s English Freakbeat Vol. 2 anthology of British Invasion R&B rarities and on the aforementioned Animalistic bootleg.
