Biography
Swedish black metal trio Woods of Infinity formed in 1999. Following one or two early demos that went nowhere, the group drew interest from the small Swedish metal imprint Seibstmord in 2000 and entered a recording agreement that ultimately collapsed. Forced back onto independent footing, the band began issuing a series of split releases with other acts. Its first such outing, a 2002 collaboration with Armagedda, preceded the I-20 EP in 2003. Woods of Infinity reached a new level of productivity with the arrival of its debut full-length, Förintelse & Libido, in 2004. Two further albums, Hejdå and Ljuset, appeared the next year alongside another split. Ravenlord (vocals and samples), Melkor (guitars and bass), and Bruthor (drums and piano) delivered the band’s fourth album, Hamptjärn, via the U.K. label Supernal in 2007. The 7" EP Frozen Nostalgia and the six-track CD Hopplös Väntan surfaced in 2008, after which Woods of Infinity shared a split with Arkha Sva titled Old Ugly Trees in 2009.
