Her entry into music came via composing and performing jingles for radio broadcasts. Though skilled on guitar, piano, and mandolin, she earned widest recognition for a smooth, tuneful modal banjo technique that fuses traditional and innovative elements in a style leaning toward the jazz edge of new age. Banjo contributions from her appear on Cris Williamson’s 1975 album Changer and the Changed, after which she joined John Altmann Recording as a staff engineer in 1978. She maintains ongoing work scoring material for radio and television while partnering with numerous independent musicians. Deep River Records has released her albums Oregon Mountains (1977), Woody Simmons (1980), and Banjorama (2001).
