Biography
In the closing years of the 2000s, Australia unexpectedly emerged as a hub for garage-rock revival bands, and Melbourne trio Woollen Kits joined their peers Royal Headache and Eddy Current Suppression Ring in delivering raw, melodic songs. The group drew from the lean, abrasive approach of Modern Lovers and the Velvet Underground when it first assembled in 2007. Once Tom Hardisty, Tom Ridgewell, and Leon Applebee formed the steady roster, they issued the 7" Teenage Love in 2009, followed by the singles Maths and Shelley, then completed the 2012 albums Woollen Kits and Four Girls.
