Biography
Dutch death metal outfit Xenomorph came together in 1994 when guitarist Coert Zwart joined forces with bassist Dennis Van Driel and drummer Ciro Palma. Early recognition arrived through the underground tape-trading scene on the strength of two well-received demos, Carnificated Dreams in 1994 and Passion Dance the following year; both later appeared together on a 1996 CD issued by Teutonic Existence. Activity then fell quiet for several years until lineup shifts—including the exit of the original rhythm section and the addition of vocalist P-ter S plus second guitarist Kreft—produced a revised configuration that issued the Promo 98 demo. The System Shock label subsequently released the band’s 2001 full-length Baneful Stealth Desire, which three years afterward earned widespread underground approval from listeners and reviewers alike and prompted multiple European festival bookings. When Zwart departed in 2003, severing the last tie to the founding roster, guitarist Vincent Scheerman stepped in so that Xenomorph could continue without interruption.
