Xixa

Arizona-based rock outfit XIXA blends a desert-steeped strain of blues with their Latin heritage and a gothic horror sensibility. Brian Lopez and Gabriel Sullivan lead the ensemble, completed by Efrén Cruz Chávez, Geoffrey Hidalgo, Hikit Corbel, Jason Urman, and Winston Watson. The group issued its debut album, Bloodline, in 2016 and subsequently earned recognition for its high-voltage live shows. Their 2019 EP, The Code, reached a widening listenership ahead of the 2021 follow-up, Genesis, where tighter songcraft and production yielded a more unified statement than the first record.
