Years

Ryan Parrish, drummer in the Washington, D.C.-based death metal/metalcore outfit Darkest Hour as well as the screamo band City of Caterpillar, launched Years as a dark ambient instrumental side project. The music centers on languid, melodic interludes paired with an insistent mechanical backbone that mirrors Parrish’s longstanding attraction to rhythmic drive. In 2008 he issued the split EP Shift in Moods/The Inferno of the Living with Graham Scala (aka Ventoux), founder of the experimental rock outfit Souvenir's Young America, on the Magic Bullet label.
