Biography
Contemporary R&B artist Yoko Gold crafts introspective reflections on romance and daily experiences, all while aiming to uplift his audience. Based in Toronto, this singer, songwriter, and producer first gained notice via appearances on multiple recordings by his sibling, Tory Lanez, before issuing his independent debut EP, Escape from Limbo, in 2024, with "Limbo" and "Obsolete" among the featured singles.
Born Moses Peterson, Yoko grew up in a musically inclined home that encouraged creative pursuits. He launched his own recording career in 2017 with the solo track "Gone," mirroring his brother's trajectory, and later contributed to Tory's projects Daystar and Sorry 4 What. June 2023 brought a collaboration with Trippie Redd on "Hurts Me," an RIAA-certified gold single from the deluxe version of Tory's Alone at Prom. Yoko followed that same year by releasing "Limbo" and "Mirage," then unveiled "Obsolete" and "Nothing Like Your Hips" in 2024. The resulting collection combined those four songs with five additional tracks to form the October 2024 EP Escape from Limbo.
