An intriguing blend of avant-soul and fragmented electronics defines the output of Berlin-based experimental vocalist Yosa Peit. In addition to appearing on releases by Nostalgia 77, Holly Herndon, Glenn Astro, Dexter, and additional artists, she issued her first album, Phyton, in 2020, with the visceral and intimate sequel Gut Buster following in 2024.

During the early 2010s the Berlin resident lent her voice to multiple tracks by British downtempo/nu-jazz producer Nostalgia 77 and maintained regular studio ties with German hip-hop producer Dexter. Her initial solo outing, the Constellation EP, came out on Paul Frick’s label the Gym in 2015. She contributed vocals to Holly Herndon’s 2019 album Proto, after which the trio TERM3—comprising Peit, Nauker, and Glenn Astro—issued its debut EP in 2020. Phyton served as her first full-length statement and received a deluxe reissue via Fire Records in 2022; TERM3 also delivered the album SHA that same year. Crafted amid her struggle with an auto-immune disease, the 2024 album Gut Buster functions simultaneously as an anti-capitalist declaration and an expression of hope.
