Biography
Upon encountering LL Cool J, rapper Young Leek boldly declared, "You are my idol," yet this admiration did not deter the aspiring artist from competing with the hip-hop veteran for the leading club single of 2006. After relocating from Atlantic City to Baltimore, Young Leek joined forces with his father, who doubled as his manager, to align with Stay Gettin' Entertainment and pitch his Nelly-meets-Bow Wow sound. His track "Jiggle It" soon surged in popularity on Baltimore radio, propelled in large measure by the influential DJ K-Swift. Plain Pat from Def Jam learned of the surrounding Leek-mania and presented a contract to the 15-year-old. Def Jam reissued the single during spring 2006.
