Yulia

Yulia, a classical-pop vocalist based in New Zealand, relocated to Christchurch from her native Russia together with her mother in 2002. Right away she immersed herself in English studies, developed strong guitar skills, and began performing folk material in both Russian and English, which soon earned her a spot on a public television broadcast. The producers responded with such enthusiasm that the studio rushed recordings of her appearance to agents and record labels. She secured a contract with Sony BMG in 2003, then issued her debut album—the multiple platinum-selling Into the West—the next year. Montage arrived in 2006.
