Zach John King merges intimate narrative elements with present-day country textures and flashes of alternative rock drive. Born in Georgia, the vocalist and composer gained traction online through the 2023 releases “Same Song, Different Dance” and “Wannabe Cowboy,” momentum that secured a recording contract with Sony Music Nashville. His first project for the label arrived in 2024 as the Wannabe Cowboy EP, with the single “Slow Down” appearing in early 2025.

Raised in Fayetteville, Georgia, just beyond Atlanta, King received an early introduction to country music from his grandmother; over time his listening expanded to encompass Switchfoot, the Police, and the classic soul of Otis Redding. Although his initial compositions leaned rock-oriented, a 2021 relocation to Nashville prompted a sharper focus on country, which he infused with his own rock edge while keeping the material both sincere and memorable. He first surfaced in 2023 via “Just Missed You,” then released “Same Song, Different Dance,” a track that gained notable streaming traction. Growing online support soon drew industry attention, culminating in the 2024 agreement with Sony’s Nashville division. The Wannabe Cowboy EP followed in May, succeeded later that year by “See It for Myself” and “Hole in the Wall,” before “Slow Down” launched the next calendar year.
