Biography
In 1996, Detroit, Michigan, saw the launch of the world music ensemble Zebula Avenue when its founder, vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Gail Baker, initially assembled the project under the name 47UMa. Following multiple roster adjustments and the 2002 appearance of a self-titled debut album, the endeavor took its current identity as Zebula Avenue, incorporating vocalists Maureen Honoré and Maggie McCabe, guitarist James Niemi, bassist Greg Nance, drummer Sandy Lovely, and percussionist Mahindi Masai. On August 21, 2007, Megawave Records issued the group’s album Life Will Be Fine.
