Zia Mohiuddin Dagar

Z.M. Dagar came into the world in Udaipur, Rajasthan, in 1929 and earned recognition as one of the preeminent musicians active throughout the second half of the twentieth century. His life ended on Sept 28, 1990. Within the documentation of Hindustani music through recordings, he proved instrumental, particularly through his earliest releases on the French label La Boite à Musique, items that remain highly prized by collectors while having become shamefully lost in space.
