Powering her vocals with intensity and intent, J-pop performer Ado swiftly rose to the summit of Japan's music rankings via her debut single from 2020, "Usseewa." Even stronger performance came from her initial full-length effort, Kyōgen, which claimed the top spot across three distinct Japanese charts, preceding her prominent appearance in the 2022 anime movie One Piece Film: Red. Serving as the film's theme, "New Genesis" achieved another significant success.

Tokyo native Ado, born and raised there, launched her career by posting cover versions on the video platform Niconico. Early 2020 saw her collaborations with Jon-YAKITORY and Nagumo Yūki before inking a contract with Universal Music Japan. October 2020 marked the release of her inaugural solo track "Usseewa," arriving just a day prior to turning 18. Syudou, recognized for extensive application of the Vocaloid vocal synthesis tool, handled production and composition; this track propelled her to prominence by attaining the pinnacle of the Billboard Japan Hot 100 and accumulating 100 million YouTube views come March 2021. Ado issued further successful releases that year such as "Giera Giera," "Odo," and "Ashura-chan," tracks later featured on her debut album Kyōgen, which led charts in January 2022. Matching this timing, she provided the vocals for animated character Uta within One Piece Film: Red. All soundtrack numbers were performed by Ado, with "New Genesis" emerging as her follow-up single to reach number one.
