Biography

David von Mering and Carter Schultz comprise the Boston duo Aer, whose output fuses pop and rap. Once their earlier four-piece band dissolved, the two launched this pop-rap venture. Aer debuted for listeners in 2010 through the mixtape Water on the Moon, with the 2011 arrival of both the mixtape The Reach and the EP What You Need marking their first extended-play outing. The reggae-tinged album The Bright Side, issued in 2012, performed strongly on digital album charts. Von Mering produced the self-titled album that brought the duo back in 2014.
