Ajattara

Ajattara originated as an ambient black metal side project launched by Amorphis vocalist Pasi Koskinen under the murky pseudonym Ruoja, who performed vocals, guitars, and keyboards. The endeavor started in 1996 simply to fill idle hours, though the first album Itse did not appear until 2001, when bassist Atoni and drummer Malakias completed the trio. Spinefarm issued the next release, sophomore effort Kuolema, in 2003, again delivering aggressive yet atmospheric black metal performed entirely in Finnish.
