Biography
Alice Babs gained notice as a vocalist while still in her early teens and went on to pursue an extended, multifaceted professional path. Her first recordings appeared in 1939 when she reached age 15; although yodeling brought her early attention and the novelty number “Swing It, Mr. Teacher” became her initial success, she already displayed an engaging tone and an easygoing swing feel.
