Helsinki, Finland resident Alma Miettinnen crafts pop songs under the professional name Alma. A fifth-place result on the seventh season of the Finnish television singing contest Idols marked her initial public exposure in 2013. Signing to the Finnish imprint PME Records under Warner Music distribution enabled the then-20-year-old to launch her recording career with the swaggering electro-pop single "Karma" in June 2016. The track quickly accumulated seven-digit streams and carried her name to listeners beyond Finland. Alma secured a contract with Universal during that same year and issued her first EP, Dye My Hair. "Chasing Highs" emerged as a single in 2017, and the Heavy Rules Mixtape followed twelve months later. She released another standalone single, "Cowboy," in 2018. Her debut full-length album, Have U Seen Her, arrived in May 2020 and contained the title track plus the spotlight songs "Bad News Baby" and "Worst Behavior" featuring Tove Lo.
