Biography
André Ceccarelli rose to prominence among Europe’s leading young jazz figures after issuing his first two solo projects, the 1978 album Ceccarelli and the 1981 follow-up Andre Ceccarelli. Recruiting an elite circle of jazz and progressive musicians—Didier Lockwood, Jannick Top, Christian Escoude, and Francois Jeanneau—plus vocalist Alex Ligertwood, celebrated for his tenure with the Brian Auger Band and Santana, he guided the sessions that produced two standout recordings. Subsequent engagements found Ceccarelli working as a sideman alongside Sting and Bireli Lagrene.
