Irish singer and actress Andrea Corr first rose to prominence as frontwoman for the Corrs, the Celtic pop outfit that dominated airwaves from the late 1990s into the early 2000s. When the group paused activities in 2006 so its members could devote more attention to family life, she launched her independent career with the debut solo album Ten Feet High. Bono served as executive producer on the 2007 release, which contained eleven original compositions by Corr alongside a rendition of Squeeze’s “Take Me I’m Yours.” The project marked a deliberate departure from the Corrs’ light, folk-tinged material toward a moodier, more aggressive dance-pop palette. Her second album, by contrast, consisted solely of interpretations of songs by Lou Reed, Nick Drake, and John Lennon; Lifelines appeared in stores on May 29, 2011.
